All bales are weighed on the truck carting it and product is DM tested by an Independant company. we run a fusion 3 and a v660 McHale. Generally a 4 ft bale will be around 300 kg DM. With a 4x3 baler (nh1290) we can get 400 kg dm in a 1.5 meter bale. The HD balers will be even more. W tend to...

    Sprayer options and must-have features

Live boom is where even when sections are turned off there is liquid going past the nozzles (just not out) as opposed to old school sections where you have a bunch of pipes coming from a point on the sprayer where the section control valves are. The up side of live boom is you get instant...

    Sprayer options and must-have features

Not necessarily. If the sprayer is running a pto pump etc then maybe slave off that to run air. currently run 9 sections on single line next rig will have twin nozzles with the ability to swap between them or both on the go. I’m looking forward to that. Assume you will go live boom, that’s a...

New Holland 7030 lower link arms.

Start by soaking them in a penetrating oil a few times during the day and then the next day. We put a square tool on the end of them and got the pins to rotate. From there we could put a bit of leverage on them to prise them out.

    Mchale V660 belts

Joiners are the weakness in the system. If you want to run at low pressures then it might work, but I think it would be the makings of a bad day.

    tractor fire extinguishers

Dry powder has its place, but be aware if you use it you can kiss your wiring loom goodbye. Foam is probably a better bet. 1 kg of anything is too small. Get bigger or better

Duncan DD30 Fan speed increasing when drill raises and lowers

At least you sorted your fam speed issue. Bearings should be tight. If there’s slop in the bearing now it will only get worse. Maybe try another supplier? forum members are all over the world, it’s an amazing place. there’s a DD30 on a farm just up the road from here.

    Vaderstad Carrier

We have a 5 meter carrier behind T7.245. it goes most places. The only thing that will drag it down is if the levelling paddles are pulling too much material up hill. don’t get an X configuration setup. They are over rated. The old style conventional setup leaves a more level pass in most...

Duncan DD30 Fan speed increasing when drill raises and lowers

What tractor do you have it on? I would suggest that it is because the hyd pump on the tractor is stroking further when you lift the drill. This is causing a lift in the pump pressure. some tractors allow you to put a remote on priority. This can help the issue.

    Sprayer flow metre recommendations

Filling a large tank and the machine isn’t on dead flat ground, makes it hard to be accurate with how much liquid is really in the tank. digiwolf here. Works well and lives on the sprayer.

Contracting charges plus fuel, or contractor charges including fuel

and when I see photos like that I’m glad we do charge per hour. The job still gets under your skin but you get a little compensation for it. we are lucky though. People around our way are used to being charged per hour for some work. Trying to convert farmers from per ha to per hour is a...
