Apologies if this has been asked already. I've had a quick look and can't see anything. Are there any templates or apps etc for recording all the information they want. I know of the IPM one we use for red tactor (sorry for the swearing). Looking for ones for hedges etc etc.

Finding SFI slightly confusing in terms of its scope and requirements especially for a predominantly grassland dairy farm which is geared towards production. 65 acres, two fields of pp approx 15 acres total, the rest temporary grass in roughly 5ac blocks reseeded on 6-7 year rotation, one 5ac...

I'm helping someone measure all the fields. There is about 130 fields to measure hedges. I'll be the 1 cutting and managing what and how it's cut.
We have decided incremental trimming probably suites best so a light trim every year leaving 4inches every yr. Some might go every other yr.

Anyone got a clue ?
I’ve looked at LG2 that I presume will cover our mowing ground ( I can max that as 41 acres or 16.5 hectares) that I presume is 16.5 x £151 = £2491.50
We only have 174 acres in total and to take edges or strips out of production etc is not viable
Keeping stock off areas...

Who can apply for SFI and when can they apply?
At the moment, we’re only allowing BPS eligible farmers to apply for an SFI agreement. This is because their details are already registered with the RPA. In future, we’ll allow a wider range of farmers to...

A thread for grassland/livestock farmers. There's lots of discussion threads covering arable too but seeing as SfI seems to want to see the back of livestock farmers I was hoping we could share what we're doing to recoup some lost subsidies.

The handbook is here:

An overview blogpost is here...
We have around 30 acres, not all for cutting as steep in places, but most of it could be cut this year as we have had nothing on grazing.
Currently we have about 15 acres cut by a farmer that pays us £5ish for big rounds and £1ish for small bales. So around £500 for last year and going forward...
