5.45 am this morning rec email from defra saying as youve registered your interest you can now start your application. ok thinks me will try .
First thing to do will be go get some more ink and a couple of reams of printer paper as will have to download the 40 pages of the new guidance of how to fill in the form once thats done having already printed and read the original guidance and more or less worked out what we could possibly do( thats taken me more or less a week to think it through ) have a read of the application process and try to get a grasp of what looks at first read/glance (but my brain needs the whole lot in front of me) like a not so simple process however im going to try. Or rather was as having been led to believe from defra that that those applying early and getting into the scheme would be paid 25% of the annual payment in the first month it says in this ( todays e mail) email that payments will start in the 4th month after your start date so that could well be next march at the earliest . Seems its not joined up

No email here but then I only expressed an interest on Friday, mostly because it was the first time hearing that I had to due to attending an SFI meeting on that day. Still can't find anything from defra in my inbox.🤷

Nothing here.
Only got emails inviting about expressing an interest on 30st August and the confirmation that we are interested on 31st. It says:

We expect to invite most customers to apply within 4 weeks of us receiving their interest. We will be in touch when we are ready to invite you with details of how to access the service to start your application.

So despite the 18th Sept launch date, they have yet another excuse to keep us waiting longer.

System working No!

It is offering SFI Actions but putting the incorrect Ha available.

It would appear a previously withdrawn application is still live in the background.

This is going to be a nightmare. I have got lots of land which says "Some of the land uses on the parcel are not compatible with the land cover on the parcel"

This field I know there is a pond, but it does not let me put in the 15.9829 ha of crop - computer just says no to anything.

TF9639 0156 Total area: 16.0039 ha
Land Use : MAIZE : 15.9829 ha, POND: 0.021 ha, ADJACENT HEDGE: 00 ha, BUFFER STRIP: 00 ha, HALF HEDGE: 00 ha
Layer intersections : BIODIVERSITY
Some of the land uses on the parcel are not compatible with the land cover on the parcel

I guess there will have to be a whole heap of RLE1s put in to make separate parcels.
There are 9 fields to which this applies

Yes, This is going to be a huge problem to many of us.
I was also told that any Field that has an area within it designated as PP01, such as a strip of grassland between a track and the field edge, will preclude any of that field from entering into an SFI agreement until that PP01 is given a new separate field number.
Th only way to do that is by doing an RLE1 form and we all know that as soon as you do an RLE1 form, everything is then put on hold until all of them are resolved. In my case that would be 19 new seperate Land parcels!

Things like this are probably going to create havoc with SFI applicants!
And maybe what will cause its downfall.

Too many idiots over complicating the issue by not getting the basic ability to enter the scheme, because they haven’t sorted the simple stuff out to start with.

We haven’t yet had an email to apply to SFI. But if any of those that have would let us know if this PP01 situation is true or not. Please would they let us all know?
Having spent years getting all our land correct as regards RLE1 forms, I do not want to do any more unless I have to.

Yeah this is going to be a huge issue.

Defra either need to change tack to allow actions on part parcels or they will be flooded with RLE1s

I had planned to put the whole farm into the soil management plan action but loads of parcels are unavailable because they have woodland cover on them

Just 1 parcel out of the 19 messed up here, but still enough to mess up the application
