Normally I nuke it with glypho.
But some old neighbours always use to leave it to ripen naturally.
This year, as ever, timing of the glypho looks tricky. Some is green, some is dead and will smash out under the sprayer belly.
It hadn’t ripened progressively up the plant. Sims have died off...
Let’s start a harvest 23 thread! So how far do we all think we are from starting? Winter barley rapidly ripening here early start is on the cards. First week of july maybe, rape just starting to lose its greenness also!
With glyphosate prices so high shall i just let the rape ripen naturally? I have the combine capacity to do it which i haven't in the past.
its conventional so more at risk from rain and wind.
crops looks good and even at the moment, are growing quick. Would probably still roundup any pigeoned...
Moving from swathing to direct cutting.
Reluctant to roundup it for a few reasons. Am I an absolute fool not to podstick it and leave it on the stem?
Any natural ripeners on here?
Just mentioned in Agricultural Matters it might be interesting if everyone just took a picture today of what you were doing, however mundane it maybe, would show the variety of work carried out, will start tomorrow.
