We don't bother dessicating if it's fairly clean, im not convinced smashing through to put podstick on is worth it either?, so tend not to bother.

I used it a few weeks ago, got some roundup going on next week but the way the Pigeions are knocking it out I think it’s worth anything to try and hold it in 🤷‍♂️

Is this reliable..... asking for a friend
Depends if you've got bags of patience.

If you haven't got the patience, or combine capacity to cut rape when you should be in wheat, then I'd dessicate. Then there's the drying costs. On the flip side, pods are less brittle if left to die off naturally.

We left a bit unsprayed a couple of years back. Cut at same time, moisture was 2%+ higher in non-dessicated. Or alternatively, we'd have had to wait another 10 days, maybe 2 weeks. Who knows which system would hit the best harvest weather conditions!

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
