13 day standstill rules

Can anyone clarify the rules on sheep movement for me, new to all this! I want to buy breeding ewes tomorrow and know that I can still sell prime lambs this week but can I sell cast ewes within 13 days or not? ANM at Thainstone only have a feeding ewe sale, not prime, so not guaranteed to be slaughtered? If ewes are bought by someone wanting to fatten them further I would presumably be in the wrong.

Definately a 13 day standstill, move on 14th day after buying in. You're selling on both days so it won't effect you, you can sell on both as they're off your holding. I doesn't matter your selling fat then store as they're both off movements. If you were moving on and off that'd tie your holding up.

Huntly have a fat ewe sale tomorrow and every wednesday along with fat lambs, putting to this won't effect your standstill or you could sell both on same day. Even if they are bought by someone to keep then that's their perogative.

If you speak to the department you can get a 'seperation' for your holding, which will let you buy and sell without tying yourself down.
