Accountancy fees

Would anyone mind sharing their approximate accountancy fees? I feel mine is exceptionally high but I don’t have anything to compare to. I know there will be a lot of variations, but my accountant does all my vat and tax returns, personal self assessment and the glossy end of year accounts. All as a partnership. I have to admit I don’t make their lives easier, hand them the receipts and leave them to it kind of thing! The bill is normally anywhere around £3.5-4.5k

Sounds about right for bookkeeping, VAT, management accounts and tax for both business and personal accounts for several partners.

I pay £1200+vat annually for the farm limited company, but that's just the end of year accounts. The bookkeeping and VAT I do myself in Sage. The audit, tax, and my personal matters are dealt with by the large accounting and legal firms that deal with my other business interests.

I had enough of paying over £1000 for basically a small simple buisness. All the invoices would be filed ,numbered tidy as we did the Vat. Now do the accounts on Freeagent, new accountant logs in to get the figures, give him year end stock figures, valuations etc, £300 for filling in the tax returns, and some very good advice. Think the way to go is to have an accounts package to do the analysis, and use the accountants precious time for tax planning , avoidance etc.
