Best printer for occasional use (cheap!)

A laserjet seems like overkill for printing 10/15 invoices per month. Basically money wasted.

I'd recommend the Canon PIXMA. Various models available, cheapest is about £35 and is the PIXMA MG2950. Should be ideal based on what you said you needed it for. At that level of printing ink replacement isn't going to be a big deal.

Into Argos and out with a Canon Pixma mx475 today. It would be far behind the design of the Kodak Hero which has the simple touch screen panel and an ethernet socket should the wifi quit. No ethernet socket on the Canon that I see. However,it works and does give a far clearer print than the Kodak, and built in fax too.
And after Cowabunga's last post on printheads for the Kodak,it might still be worth trying to get one..........if it's free!! Just for another back up,to go along with the HP PSC 1410 that resides under a shelf and just needs ink but doesn't have wifi.

Now it's questionable whether it will cure the Kodak or not but have just ordered a printhead which is free.Took a minute or ten to figure out how but got there......

Must say that the Kodak Hero 9.1 is the best printer I've ever had by far. It has been totally trouble free over several years. Is used intensively at times. Prints photos. Prints both sides. Scans from flatbed and a sheet feeder. Can store photo paper and A4 and automatically chooses which and the size of photo paper.

Only thing it is fussy about is the quality of A4. It likes 95gsm as a minimum or it can crumple it and block. I bought 6 reams of HP 100gsm paper on offer at Currys a while ago at 97p per ream of 250 sheets.

When the Hero eventually packs up I will miss it a lot. I hope Kodak will remain committed to their long term use.

Canon mx 925 pixma printer copier scanner is the best I have had by far. Ink seems to last really well and quality of print is excellent.
Would never have an HP again. Seems to be hardly any ink in the cartridges.

How about a proper Xerox 6500N 23-page/min colour laser printer for £78 + VAT all in. Comes with 1000 page cartridges included. USB and network interfaces.

Put in coupon code XEROX50 at the checkout stage to get £50 off the web price. Limited time offer, finishes in 2 days I believe.

Oh and you get a £25 Amazon voucher as well.
