Think it's £50 with the NFU for insurance purposes. Fella this year seemed more thorough, found out why afterwards, he is ex aviation inspector:eek:, think their requirements are a little stricter:rolleyes:

What does one involve?
All it entails is a quick look round the machine making sure it fit for purpose, some inspectors are harder than others. This one wants me to replace a rubber gaiter round the bottom of the joystick that has been missing since about year 2000, not sure where to get a new one for a machine that is obsolete though.

As long as the pipes look OK, and there is nothing obviously wrong with it it will pass, alarm needs to work and go off before the back end lifts right up:LOL:

Thanks. Not particularly strenuous then, sounds like a paper requirement to keep insurance companies happy more than anything useful. Wasn't sure whether it involved load testing as such.

Only in as much as I picked up 2 tonne of fert and pushed the arm out to make it go beep. yes more of a paper exercise really.

did get a bill one year for all the attachments at £50 each too, I wasn't very impressed with this as a grain bucket was on the list and that was at a different farm........ Hasn't happened since I complained though and only the handler itself gets tested.

Just beware that if you have a man basket for forklift then it needs testing every 6 months and not on a yearly basis as before. Ours done through insurance with NFU.
