Danes will not allow in milk animals to be exported.
Dutch cattle have to go through France to get around this but iirc there is talk of a total import ban on in milk cows if you are thinking of importing

If I was going to buy cattle it would be directly from a couple of farmers I trust and who are actually good at the job. Why would you go to auctions/markets and end up having to pay additional fees plus the grief of actually going to them?

usually the seller that pays any fees.

most auctioneers will have a private treaty sales register. also a few middle men about, ie bacca. if you buy farm to farm, you can see the system the cows are kept in, if you buy in mkt you only see the the cows that have been 'hair dressed'
