Some of the most innovative – and British made – cultivation, drill and seeding equipment from Sumo will be on show, and demonstrated, at the Cereals Event this week (June 15-16). Heading the line up on their demonstration plot, opposite their stand (800), is the deep tillage seeder, or DTS, specifically designed to enable farmers and contractors to exploit the advantages of strip tillage, but with the versatility to be equally effective in plough-based and minimal tillage systems. The company’s iconic Trio – which is available as a mounted, trailed rigid or trailed folding machine – will also be shown, along with one of the newer additions to the range; the DD toolbar, a low disturbance disc drill designed to work in a zero or no-till seed bed, previous residues and cover crops. Completing the line-up on the working demo plot is the Low Disturbance Subsoiler, or LDS, again designed to work in conjunction with zero or minimal tillage crop establishment systems. It has the ability to alleviate compaction with the minimum of surface disturbance, allowing oxygen and water infiltration. Three of the company’s front weights will be used, as well as a front hopper. More of the weights (ranging from 1000kg to 2500kg) will be on the Sumo stand. “We’re looking forward to welcoming all our current customers, and new customers, to our stand,” says managing director Simon Herring. “We’re proud to be showing some of the most innovative equipment at the event, and the fact that it’s both designed and built in Britain – in Yorkshire – is a real positive. “We’re known for having both durable and practical machines, and in offering second-to-none sales support from our team of specialists.” Also on the Sumo stand at the event will be: · Quatro 3m · Trailed Mixidisc 6m · Mounted Trio 3m c/w Sumoseeder & Single Disc Openers · GLS 4 · DD 6m · DTS 3m
