Hsbc bank manager reckons that only 10% of farmers/contractors actually know there costs.
im not a member but it was £35 per ticket today, which was fair enough for the rental of the event and the grub! That might explain why they're members for £300 but gain nothing? Genuinely interested what you get out of it, considered joining until saw the costs and thought will I manage savings equivalent to that over the year? First thought is no but willing to be proved wrong
Exactly.I'm amazed that it's as high as 10%, he should try reading posts on this forum, especially when it comes to hedgecutters.

The NAAC do a lot of work for the industry and fight for contractors when no one else does. my dad is a contractor and will openly say he wouldn't be in business without them. he is a member because he want to support the association that supports his industry. to him that's worth £300.That might explain why they're members for £300 but gain nothing? Exactly.
Someone asked if farmers are up to date with costs, he said everybody in this room and 10% of farmers know there costs.
problem is, everybody there was interested and up to date with costs and all the contractors working for nowt who are to thick to realise what it costs them to go contracting are to busy to go!
There was a german speaker there aswell, which was very interesting.[/quote
Hmm......
I was too busy to go but, call me big headed, I like to think I know what I'm doing. I was too busy actually making a modest profit rather than being a thick "Chase my tail" operation.
There are some good outfits that know what they are doing
