To be fair, they can't do that very well. You don't think running the country is complex?

But the reason the whole pandemic was such a phukup was because it was managed by politicians.
No, they def can't.To be fair, they can't do that very well.
I would have to disagree, i think the politicians were beholden to public demands and handed over the treats that were asked for.But the reason the whole pandemic was such a phukup was because it was managed by politicians.
More likely they did what they always do, look out for #1 and their mates.I would have to disagree, i think the politicians were beholden to public demands and handed over the treats that were asked for.
Democracy at its finest
They look out for their mates and themselves by seeking to hold on to power at all costsMore likely they did what they always do, look out for #1 and their mates.
That's what really gets up my nose - the desperation. They look out for their mates and themselves by seeking to hold on to power at all costs
You talking about mps or pharmaWhat history, the lying, corruption, fraud or conspiracy theories.
And supposedly the people who had the intelligence in various professions simply went with it they were no better than the politicians in the end tho as the harms started to take hold and the measures put in place started to be shown as a waste of time effort and money some grew a conscience and started to talk up welldone to them or this would have dragged on longer .But the reason the whole pandemic was such a phukup was because it was managed by politicians.
Scientists by their training and nature tend to be overly cautious and therefore not the best people to be in charge in this type of crisis. The governments hollowing out and disbanding of Public health England, the organisation actually tasked with dealing with just such an emergency was nothing short of criminal, along with their total incompetence and obsessive greed that the emergency gave them..And supposedly the people who had the intelligence in various professions simply went with it they were no better than the politicians in the end tho as the harms started to take hold and the measures put in place started to be shown as a waste of time effort and money some grew a conscience and started to talk up welldone to them or this would have dragged on longer .
PHE f'ed up the response to the virus. Ironically Jeremy Hunt set it up.Scientists by their training and nature tend to be overly cautious and therefore not the best people to be in charge in this type of crisis. Scientists are little different to the rest of the population. There are some brilliant ones and some of these will be cautious while others might have different ethics or aims. At the opposite extreme there are complete crooks and even evil scientists hell bent on lining their own pockets even if it be at the detriment of many people or even populations.Scientists by their training and nature tend to be overly cautious and therefore not the best people to be in charge in this type of crisis.
The public wanted paid holidays, lockdowns etc...politicians gave them what they wanted, "science" was provided to support policy decisionsScientists are little different to the rest of the population. Never trust anyone on face value. Always question published results and theories. That is the very essence of ‘science’ where very many things are seldom settled science for very long. Those that try to stifle the questioning of science are not deserving of being classed as scientists themselves.
Dismantling the very organisation that is designed to implement a national control system in the opening months of a pandemic. Then hand the project over to Tory cronies under the control of a person with absolutely no knowledge or skills in this area who between them spirited away approximately £37 billion of tax payers money.PHE f'ed up the response to the virus. Ironically Jeremy Hunt set it up.
