Has anyone recently bought a dale drill, I used to have one of their old seed hawk original ones. Really good drill.
Just contemplating a newer dale eco xl with no fert option.

theh just seem a bit quiet in the uk at the moment.

I wouldn’t buy a drill like a dale without the fert option. A must have. Never used a dale, but the coulter does not look as strong as the seedhawk, and I am not sure if they use bushes in all the pivot points? The seedhawk does which means you can just keep rebuilding it.

Bought one last year. 8m Eco L no fert with Stocks avadex and slug pelleter.
I don't need fert option as i have lots of pigs

No experience of the seedhaek coulter. Coulter seems perfectly fine subject to setting it up.

Also bought an 8L last year (my 2nd one). When you say no fert option what do you mean? Its a large hopper which can be split but doesnt have to be.
2 metering units but can run just one if you really want. I wouldnt say the fert option is any different to the standard option?

Mine is split hopper but used as grain only, piped for 1/2 width shutoff using the 2 metering units. To do grain/fert would need repiping and poss some slight alterations but that isnt something i need

Yeah so basically just plumbing the pipe work to be able to do half width shut off instead of front and back tines.

I bought an XL for last season. I was looking for a tined drill. I like the versatility of the drill. Alter the row width, ability to companion crop, mix different seeds down the pipes, individual contour following tines and therefore individually adjustable tines. A very helpful company to deal with also.
