Now Then.. They are identical tractors in every way other than the MFWD axles. The 2650 had a ZF APL325 and the 2850 had a ZF APL735. The MFWD clutch of the 2850 had an extra plate in too. They used the same 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, same radiator sizes, same hydraulic pumps and rockshaft cylinders so would have the same lift capacity. Tyre sizes were whatever spec was ordered, both were available as 30/40k, standard or Hi Lift. SG2, low profile SG2, MC1 and CC2 cabs were available on all. There were odd changes through production to the bonnet latching, radiator style and some other minor bobbins.. Horsepower adjustments are best done on a dynamometer, that way you know what you've done. There's internal pump adjustment and the external 'torque' screw for best results. Customers who had both 26 & 2850s even with the 26 turned up, they didn't pull like a 2850. So, the tractor of choice would be a late 2850 40k Hi Lift (that's been looked after)!!
