Most weekends we get some lads from the village parking up in various Lay-bys close to our house reving their cars, playing loud music and generally being arses at any time between 11pm and early hours of the morning. Last night at about 2.30am they are there again reving the car but no music - or so I thought. I decided I had had enough and thought I would go out, see who it was and then go to their parents house and sit and rev the rubbish off my truck until they came out and give them a bollocking. When I got to the lay-by, it was an unfamiliar car with two youths in who quickly gestured me to F off, I did, but they followed - at high speed. They tried twice to run me off the road and get in front of my truck, Thankfully they were in some shity old Vauxhall and once I got on the main road, I managed to loose them after a seven mile high speed chase. I imagine that they were looking to meet someone to either sell drugs possibly to the youngsters in the village I mentioned earlier, or were part of some wider drug logistics operation as there have been others caught in and around the village ‘dealing drugs’. I have reported it to the police, who said ‘why didn’t you call us last night?’ The police officer then said ‘well, there is no offence to report but we will log it as an incident’, I thought ‘well that is the reason I didn’t report it, because you would do feck all’ Anyhow, any thoughts of what could be done to prevent/put off these type of pansies from hanging around here in the future? Was thinking cctv in the lay-bys or even confronting the youths in the village (one of whom is a policeman’s son!) as I am sure they are connected but I can’t prove it. Exciting night anyway, and thoroughly recommend a ford ranger as a getaway vehicle! Just to add, a quick internet search of the registration of the vehicle showed it to be a white transit tipper who’s last mot was in 2012 and it failed.
