Someone in Caerwys was allegedly killed by a sheepdog knocking a tractor in to gear in similar circumstances. I always do a safe stop, and it's payed off 3 times at the same place, doing something to an implement and the customer climbs in to the tractor to move it, he's noted all three times how lucky it was for me the key was in my pocket instead of the ignition. Though that wouldn't help with a raised loader to be honest. IMO if you must have kids or dogs in the tractor, lock them outside the cab when you are.

a mate stopped for a chat left tractor running next thing power harrow hit the floor his springer responsible ,also saw a guy unblocking big square baler with new holland tractor running bad enough but with jack russel bouncing around the cab death trap.Mrs ff dog locked her out the car with the engine running for about an hour to my amusement

Why unblock a baler with a tractor running in first place?!! I wont even put a pto shaft on even if its in neutral unless tractors off

I dont think its worth the risk atall should be no reason to be behind a tractor while its running.. Minus my slurry tanker

You can't put hyd pipes in or out on a Fendt without the tractor running.

My Jack Russell almost killed me with the Manitou this spring when I got out to pick some stones and he decided to push the lever so the bucket went into the ground.

I didn't know that?! Will try it.
What about the PTO? Can it be turned with the tractor off?
On the newer 718 you have to press a button to release pressure for trailer brakes, does that stay released once switched off?
