Emails Not Going

Because of Orange giving up providing an email service, I have set up a gmail address, which is working. I have just created a document giving full details of our changes and added it as an attachment to an email sent to all 116 people in our contacts list. The email just sits in the outbox, and won't go. I am using Windows Livemail. Hitting "send and receive" doesn't help. It just says that some unknown errors have occurred.

Sometimes I get this problem, but coming out of Livemail usually produces a box with a message that says "you have unsent messages in the outbox, do you want to send them now?" Clicking on that usually works, but not this time.

Is it because I am trying to send the email to too many people?

Up date. I split them into 3 traunches, and they all went. Then I got about 70 notifications saying my email had been blocked by the receiving email address. One of the blocked recipients has told me that they did get it. Mrs LS sent the same person an email this evening and that one was blocked. We are receiving emails ok.
I don't know what to do next.

Some receiving servers don`t like "free" mail addresses.
You can get a "not delivered" message when it has got through and dropped into the recipients spam folder or been delivered. Best, but most painful solution, is to get the recipients to add your e-mail address as "safe or trusted".
Other than that you would need to contact GMail which will be an offshore shed in Mumbai..... good luck!!

Make sure that they send through the preferred email server. I've had that problem before now. In Apple Mail there is a drop down box to choose how a message is sent near the address bar [from memory]
