First time out ploughing in over a year, NO yorkshire men there, got the red rosette in my class and the highest score of the day, so well happy.
I don`t like airfields much because they can be plough breakers. Stubble seems particularly strong this year and chopped straw seems to get deeper every year. Never mind, it is the same for everybody and we should be thankful for the opportunity.Blooming awful day in Stafford on Saturday, ex airfield, ploughed before (should have known better) - a foot of stubble and full of stone!!! Still, won my class, the overall vintage and overall champion - chuffed, but not worth the agro of ploughing it! Most people couldn't bury the stubble, I just about managed to. A lot of peoples plots looked like someone at been through with a chisel plough....
