Yes. Crap cheap for a reason very hard to shut off completley and almost impossible to meter seed through it properly. Can get .5kg of turnips through it or 4kg nothing in between. Grass seed is better but not much. If it came with a decent manual saying were to set for different seeds it would help. It has settings for radish seed and then fertilizer and thars it so ive had to make it up as i go along. Put some fert out on steep bits with it to try and it did ok for that would probably do slug pellets ok as well.
Worst thing about it is the handle to open and close it doesnt stay in one place it just rattles about opening and closing as it frels like it. I fixed this by tying it open with elastic bands so i can shut it off by hand but then i have to hold it to keep it closed. Ok (but an absolute PITA!!) on a quad but i cant mount it on my chain harrows like id hoped to do as well
But it was £1k cheaper than the logic one i looked at
An old stocks spinner works really well for most things, I put grass through our old one and fertiliser. Try eBay for one. What you pay for it now You'll get back when you sell for sure.
Stick with the vicon. I wish wed kept ours
But being able to do it with the quad is very handy for compaction and you can get on and sow when its very wet compared to a tractor. Thats very handy but a logic or similar off ebay would be better than this. A local machinery dealer has a cheap one for £100 new i dont know what its like i think this fimco was about £300. Of i was going to buy another it would be the £100 one it cant be any worse for what they are.
