Travel with the family, take them out of school and go for it. BUT make sure you find time to dig the ditches, mole drain and sort the subsoil on the whole farm whilst you have the opportunuty, in 24 weeks you will want to be sowing OSR!!

If you have children the answer is dead simple. Spend time with them! If not do something for yourself. Travel, take a course or try to learn a new skill.

My wife has just started a Beekeeping course.

Beekeeping can be quite profitable so that is not a bad sugestion.

I've fancied dabbling in Spread Betting but haven't got the bottle..... or money!

Try this if you like. IG index used to do a low value introductory sort of thing where you could bet pence a point rather than pounds.

Can be quite time consuming if you enjoy the research and possibly cash consuming if you go about it the wrong way. I've made a few quid in the past but nothing exciting.

If you're away from chimney pots you can't take money off the masses, so you need to think outside the box What fits in remote areas - perhaps noisy things like off roading, rally car test track like a special stage, maybe clay shooting when there' s nobody to annoy?

Or perhaps an online business, 24hr couriers make the UK a small place. Your remoteness to big populations won't be a limiting and you'll no doubt have plenty of storage on the farm should you need to store products.
