  • US corn and soy markets fell yesterday as a less threatening weather outlook for the Midwest plus long liquidation selling helped to pressure.

  • There were reports that Egypt rejected another wheat cargo due to ergot contamination – local government purchases now exceed 5mln t (1mln t more than expected)

  • EU forecast is for cool wet condition to continue for the next 7 day, and despite the 8-15 day forecast hopes for warmer and drier conditions, time is starting to run out for the quality of this season’s crop

  • Crude prices pushed higher, supported by a rally in global equity markets and a weaker US$ - draw down in stocks also supported

    London July ’16 Settle £109.45/t – unchanged from previous close.

    London Nov ’16 Settle £121.60/t – unchanged from previous close.


    Paris Sep ’16 Settle €164.25/t – down €1.25/t from previous close.

    Paris Dec ’16 Settle €169.25/t – down €1.25/t from previous close.
