  • Yesterday saw a rise across US and European markets due to continued concerns over climatic conditions. Such as fears of La Nina in the USA (although it is believed that this is too early to predict) that is currently assessed at 50% with the main impact being a rainfall deficit, and persistent rain in France and Germany.
  • Egypt have rejected 40kmt of wheat due to traces of Ergot despite previously saying that they would apply international standards (providing a % tolerance depending on the contract), which could pose a difficult situation for exportable quality wheat bearing in mind the current weather conditions across Europe, and Egypt being one of the world’s largest importers of wheat.
  • For the coming weekend, the US is predicted rains in the E Midwest and SE, with the central region seeing temperatures of up to 30⁰C.
  • The UK should see some cloud cover on the eastern side of the country this morning, but clearing by the afternoon providing a dry and sunny day across the UK..
