KWS Funky conventional 6 row matches Hybrid yields and is obviously far cheaper seed price wise. Hybrid Barley if you follow the growing programme has the added inducement of a cash back guarantee if it fails but from my point of view the additional cost is only worth it if you are going to get a significant yield advantage over a conventional variety and against KWS Funky you are not!
Tower did well here last year, yielding not far below Bazooka grown on better land. For heavier land Glacier is better but needs a good pgr programme. Cassia was becoming outclassed on the RL list but did well last year and seems to perform better in the field than in trials.
