google chrome

Mostly using Chrome as my browser , no problems with it except that I used to have pages that I used regularly (TFF BCMS etc) in a little square box rapid access thingy . It always seems hit or miss whether I get the pages to appear there though . Sometimes they do sometimes no matter how I try I can't get them to go there . I've had TFF in there for ages now but suddenly it disappeared , and I can't get it back , same with BCMS . Other times the link just appears without my input . :( Is there a magic word that I should use to do it , or perhaps a particular face expression ? I seem to have tried everything else . Help would be greatly appreciated. .

at the top below the address bar just create a new folder and name it. then any links you want to save just highlight the link address and copy it, then open the folder and paste it, then right click the link after you have pasted it and select properties, you can now rename the link to something short you can associate with and save without changing the original address.

Not quite sure how you mean . This is a screenshot of how I want to do it . Can I do it your way?

in the above pic open the folder that says imported "from ie" you should be able to paste links in to it. then open the link with a right click and select properties and rename it to what you want,

@Av Gorritt I've just had a look on Chrome (don't normally use it) your screen shot is showing recently visited sites not bookmarks. Had another play, my previous comment isn't entirely correct I find. Doesn't display all sites visited whether bookmarked or not, seems a bit random.

Yes Phillip , Random is the word . As you say the boxes show recently visited sites BUT , they appeared without my input at all . And also they stay there until I click the cross to remove them . Puzzle really , I like Chrome , but I think I will use Opera for a bit . I don't have any trouble putting "rapid access " boxes on that . Thanks to all of you for your input , and I'll try the suggested things when I have a little more patience than I have now . It's patience not time that I'm short of ! (well that's in the short term - longer term ????
