Growing Alfalfa

Hi guys new to the forum,
I have land that I am thinking of growing on. The only problem is that the land is only half flat, the rest is on a series of hills. The cost to terrace the entire property would be too much to be remotely profitable. I can run tractors on the hills; but, my question is what can grow good on the hills. I would prefer to grow alfalfa becuase i have buyers lined up. Would Alfalfa grow good on a hill? I was told that it wouldn't grow right on hills.

Thanks guys,

I've seen alfalfa (Lucerne we call it in australia) growing on all soil types. We mainly grow it on Sandhills for grazing only. As a rule the deeper the sand the better it grows. Our winters are short an mild so Lucerne gives us year round production, a bit different to your climate.

I think you may need to ask on a US forum! Not much (not enough!) grown here. In fact we import it!
