i would like to get a couple of highland cows. Obviously I wouldn't want a bull for just two cows. We only have limmies here. So my question is, could a highland cow deliver a limmi cross without complications?
A highland cow to a limmy will be fine, but I once worked with a small herd of highland cross limmy cows and they were mental. Slightest provication and they exploded. But if your cows are quiet and handled a bit I think you will be fine.
Thanks
Don't think I would plan on keeping the crosses to breed from, just keep the 2 pure's as pets and tidy up rough patches.
Don't cut Bulls here so plenty of young bulls to use rather than a full size sire
Thanks for the replies guys
There is a scotch guy near by with some so I'll have to see if he'll sell a couple. I would of been worried about the summer heat but as I say there are some near by so must be ok fir that.
Do folks use adult limmi bulls or young ones? Bit hard to imagine with an adult. Mind we have a young breeding bull not yet 2. He would be perfect at the mo if I could get some very soon
