That is what you asked and that is what my response answered. Now you add to your original question to show that you had no intentions of asking a simple question as you claimed. I expected nothing less of course. I did not say they would punish us. I said they are going to try their damndest to punish us. They will fail, as they have always failed. I note you signed up purely to make this post, but are one of those people who is not prepared to declare who and what you are. The automatic assumption is that you are some Europhile, or even worse, one of the unelected EU minions. No matter. Some of us have decades of experience of dealing with such people and you faze us not at all. One thing about open forums like this is that you have absolutely no idea of the background and knowledge of other posters. It is a serious mistake to put us all down as peasants. I am quite happy to admit that I am indeed a peasant. That is my life, that is my lifestyle. I am also quite well educated, and that makes me a dangerous peasant with which to cross swords. I could probably in reality successfully cross swords with you too should you choose to do so. Has anybody in government ever said we will not pay what we owe until Brexit? If so, please quote the source because I would like to see who said it. I did not vote Leave in the hope that in 10 years we might have a better trade with India. I have been opposed to membership of the (now) EU since before the first referendum, with the prime, but not only, reason being the founding Treaty as I posted in my initial response.
