I had been selling this product throughout the UK for 2 years and in my experience the benefits of Chelated Copper & Zinc are well proven in Dairy cattle for Digital Dermatitis but we never had much success with Hoof-Fit gel on foot rot or even scold on sheep. The gel was just to thin and is washed/brushed off to quickly after treatment and it is also well proven that acidifying Co & Zn makes them much more effective as it lowers the Ph at the treatment site.
There is now an improved chelated Copper & Zinc product with the important benefit of additional Organic acids that overcome all the negatives that I have mentioned with the Intracare Hoof-Fit products. It is 5 times as thick and hugely more effective on Digital Dermatitis -Proven effects in only 5 days on DD and 19 days on sole ulcers (pain free in only 7 days! - Proven vet trial work). The new and improved product is called 'Kanters HoofGel', they also have a fantastic concentrated spray and footbath. Let me know if you want to know where to get it or if you want more info.

Been using it on cows for 3 years. Best product I've found for dermatitis. Definitely worth a try.
Great news, really pleased to hear it!
We've just developed a system (the Quill Hoof-Spray System) in collaboration with Ambic Equipment Ltd, to apply the Intra Hoof-fit Spray in the milking parlour. Let me know if you would like any info and I'd be happy to send some :)

I'd like 30% off next order.;)
I did try a couple of bottles of a different product recently but still prefer the hoof fit gel.
A little money saving tip! Buy the 5 or 10 litre drum of hoof fit spray, pour some in a small pot and put in the pump room and in a couple of days you will have the gel ready to use at a fraction of the cost. Oh well there goes my discount! !:)

In actual fact dermo isn't particularly difficult to kill in my experience. It's the reoccurrence due to it being in the environment that's the problem. The important thing when treating a foot that's lifted is give it a good hose down first, then spray with whatever. It is a skin complaint after all. If you're applying any product to sh!t you'll get a poor kill, end of.

Haha it seems that Hoofman is a dealer of kanters, Why the solka teisen is forbidden in Europe as it did not fullfil the requirements as a medicine, to be honest you are trying to sell an illegal product to farmers, maybe you first call the VMD , so hoofman I guess you made the wrong choice haha

You need to keep up with the times my friend! Solka has already been reformulated and is perfectly accepted by the VMD.The medicines licence you think you are knowledgable on is an AVM-GSL Licence, i have medicated shampoo in this same category so not as impressive as you make out eh.... I suppose your over price copper sulphate mixed with sudocreme is the answer to treating DD? Acidified copper is still the most effective treatment ive found. Ask Mark Reed (NACFT) his views on it. Did you meet us at the NACFT AGM this year in leeds - I didnt see anyone else confident enough to promote their products to profesional trimmers on that day (except WOPA who also promote Solka). Are you a fully licenced trimmer can i ask or an ex dairyman whos been on a one day course?

Your post is a bit conffusing but whatnot product are you referring to? Having a lot of trouble with DD ATM and I have one cow who I can't fix a sodding ulcer on!

These DD bacteria that burrow into the skin (trepenemes) can cause non healing lesions of most foot ailments. White line non healing lesions are a pain for me. If i remember right from the Arla talk this is basically what necrosis is. I get a couple a year that only seem to get clear with a dose of Micotil or similar at drying off, a harsh trimming out under anethestic.
The general consensus was Terramycin spray or Intra care's ripiderma which is the chealeated copper/zinc as above are the best cures for visible lesions. Bandages seem to have very little effect on how well treatment works and are not recommended or if used 12/24 hours max.
