Hello Yes spools are common to crack when you abuse the self leveling ram on this model. Its not normal to have a delay on the lowering/labour engine, if its a standard check valve on the ram you can adjust the speed it reacts, 10mm spanner and a 13mm spanner required. Undo the locking nut and screw out the adjuster bolt 1 maybe 2 turns then try it, fine turn it half a turn at a time after that. ONLY adjust this with hot oil it is normal to have a very slight delay with cold oil. IF you adjust it so its reacting too fast then under certain conditions while lowering from height the ram will judder and shake the whole machine, if this happens screw adjuster back in slightly till it stops. IF you have boom suspension then best to replace the whole suspension valve, been loads of part number changes on these suspension valves over the years and earlier ones like yours were replaced for exactly your problem. at one time there was a updated screw in valve you could buy for the old ones instead but thats no longer available and even if it was there quite old now so better to replace the whole suspension valve and be done with it. Check bottom lift ram bushes while your at it, MLT 627 likes to eat them bushes and bugger the ram eye. I can supply you parts if your UK
