Strange question, but does autosteer work going in reverse?

Yes you need to change the direction of travel symbol same as you would for a combine

I guess no need to change any travel symbols on many other setups, at least the VarioGuide steers the tractor forwards and backwards without any change on the auto-steer settings. Odd if JD autosteer would not do the same.

when I move my ATU wheel between tractor and combine it generally defaults to the correct direction once the type of machine is selected but now and then it decides it wants the opposite.

Got a flail that can be front or rear mounted. No front linkage so thinking about doing certain jobs going backwards be a lot easier if I can use the autosteer

Mine does the same! Sometimes between fields.

Don't forget to change the gearbox input rotation as you'll be running in front mounting mode but the rear PTO will be turning the 'wrong' way for the flail. It might just freewheel if it's got an internal gearbox overrun.
