John Deere combine autosteer

Trying to sort autosteer out on our combine its autotrac ready in that it's got the wiring harness from the dome to cab and gs3 monitor just needs a dome and an activation code is there a cheaper way than paying £2118 pounds for the activation on a machine that only works a month of the year!

In short...... No..... Don't think that it only works a month. Think that it harvests 11 months of hard work!

So no way around it, would of thought there would be some alternatives out there!

Are you sure it is autotrac ready? some just have a harness from dome for yield mapping. you need to look under the cab and check that there are wires coming out of the steering box. A new dome is just over £2000 plus the activation.

I'll check but plugged a friends 3000 dome in and the gs3 screen activated gps requesting an activation code, we then plugged in a 2630 screen and it all came to life just got to get a clip tomorrow for the dome to click on roof then we can try it properly!

You can put the activation code in the 2630 screen rather than the combines screen, at least that way you can take the screen to another autotrac ready tractor or buy an ATU for a non JD machine.

We have the activation in my screen that moves between combine and tractor

That is the plan now buy a dome/screen and get an atu for the tractors, firstly my mates are being kind enough to let us use there system to try it out! We were just after an easy way with the gs3 screen in the combine but suprised by very little options john deere offer on there activations!

Yeah i have the gs3 screen in my tractor but have to bring the 2600 screen from the combine to get the activation
