KUHN completes its seven-strong recruitment campaign Having recently announced the appointment of two new sales specialists and a parts and amenity sector specialist, KUHN Farm Machinery has confirmed the appointment of four additional members of staff to its UK team. The new appointments complete an ambitious recruitment drive which has seen a total of seven new employees joining the company’s UK staff structure in the last six months. Product Specialists Sam Green joins KUHN as one of two new product specialists and will focus on the company’s sprayer, fertiliser spreader, shredder and electronics ranges. Sam, from a beef and arable farm in Cheshire, has a first-class honours degree in Agri-food Marketing with Business Studies from Harper Adams University and has previous experience of working with KUHN having spent 12 months during his degree course working in the role of marketing assistant at KUHN’s HQ and sprayer factories in France. Katie Calcutt comes from an Oxfordshire farming family and joins the KUHN team as a graduate from Harper Adams University. She has been appointed as one of two new product specialists and will be working across the entire KUHN range, but with a special remit to focus on grass harvesting machinery, baling and wrapping equipment, mixer wagons, straw choppers and hedgecutters: as part of her degree course in Agriculture with Mechanisation, Katie spent 12 months working as a prototype mechanic at KUHN’s Audureau factory where the company’s straw choppers, mixer wagons and hedgecutters are designed and produced. Katie’s farming background has given her a wealth of experience in arable, dairy and sheep farming, and she has also worked for Thame Farmers Auction Market Limited and for DSV UK Ltd where she was involved in trials work on wheat and oilseed rape crops. Bedding, feeding and hedgecutter sales specialists James Hutchinson joins KUHN as one of two bedding, feeding and hedgecutter specialists. Originally from Wiltshire, James has more than 10 years worth of experience in a wide range of farming and agricultural machinery roles: he has worked on dairy, beef, arable and organic farms throughout the UK and USA, most recently working for Kemble Farms Ltd in Gloucestershire. James also has prior experience of working with agricultural machinery dealers, having held roles where he was responsible for the delivery and demonstration of a range of new machinery. He is also the current Wiltshire YFC county chairman. Blair Allan, a farmer’s son from West Dunbartonshire, joins KUHN as the company’s second bedding, feeding and hedgecutter specialist for Scotland and Northern England . He joins KUHN from HRN Tractors at Blairdrummond, Stirling, where he was responsible for selling several leading agricultural machinery brands – including KUHN equipment – and for selling new and used tractors, plant and machinery to domestic and foreign markets on behalf of Agritrac Exports. Prior to that, Blair was an area salesman for James Gordon Ltd, and he has also worked as assistant farm manager for the Almarai Company in Saudi Arabia where he was involved in all aspects of farm management including staff training, cultivation, husbandry and harvesting ofalfalfa and maize silage on three large pivot irrigated farms. Commenting on the appointments, Duncan McLeish, KUHN’s UK sales manager said: “Following a busy period of recruitment, KUHN now has a full complement of sales and product specialists in place to enable it to take a greater market share in several key areas and to provide additional customer support via its network of dealerships. “We offer all seven of our recently appointed recruits a warm welcome to the KUHN team and look forward to working with them to deliver improved sales and aftercare service to our UK customer base.”
