Hey ho!!!
Son who has been checking e bay since these went last December has struck gold, found them for sale on E Bay on Monday night(y):)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-Sheep-Scales-Loadbar-type-NO-VAT-/311599224710?hash=item488cc2d786:g:Jy8AAOSwZ8ZW5uDD&nma=true&si=v%2Bt2xXkAQ0uIsbUErWF8Ya4uDYU%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I rang Dyfed Powys police to tell them we had found them to ask what shall we do on Monday night, they have yet to get back to me :mad::mad: USELESS

I got my nephew to bid and buy on them so we kept hold of them and went to fetch them yesterday, not knowing who or what we be presented with we went to Hereford Police station to describe them and tell them that I was going there. They logged a record and said if we needed help or felt threatened phone 999 and they would attend. I told them I had come 90 miles to get back my goods and was told you cant just take them. Sorry I am here to recover my stolen goods:mad:.

Any way went to the guy as arranged to collect the scales which most definitely were ours , when I told the guy there was a problem and that they were mine, he said he had bought them legitimately at McCartneys sale in Ludlow, my response was great there is now a paper trail back to who ever sold them there then(y)(y). A phone call to McCartneys and confirmation as to who I was and that they were mine they were happy to let me take the scales home and they would reimburse the guy on ebay(y)(y) everyone happy.(y)

E bay seller was an innocent victim as was I (y)

McCartneys now out of pocket by £150. My fear is that the muppets at DYFED POWYS police will not have the inclination or gumption to get of their arses and find the guy who sold them at McCartneys, I really am disgusted with the attitude taken by the police who despite several phone calls have not given any response . Too busy with speeding tickets..... twits:mad::mad::mad:

I am going to present a complaint to the Chief Constable, at the risk of creating a rod for my own back but they really have done absolutely nothing, they have lied to me and have not responded to my request to speak to someone. On Wednesday I asked to speak to a police officer, any police officer, regarding this and was told in no uncertain terms that I could not and that I would have to wait for the officer dealing with it to get back to me . Which they have not yet done

My eldest son has been tweeting the Police commissioner all week and no response, I suppose he is too busy worrying about his re election. what a load of rubbish!!!

The police around here, on the very few occasions I have had to have any dealings with them are generally very arrogant and condescending when they speak to you, I suppose they have to deal with a lot of rubbish but they need to change attitude if they want any help from members of the public .

Having been brought up to respect and always help the police, as indeed I have always told my kids, now I most definitely would not go out of my way to help the police in any way.:mad:

Seems the response to this type of crime is pretty poor, countrywide. Next door farm lost their quad a couple of weeks ago (taken from a locked building in the middle of the night while they were in the yard lambing) Police didn't even visit, just gave them a crime number and told them to put it on Facebook.FFS.
Bad job when you've done all the work for them and they still can't be @rsed.
Stick with it, I hope you can get it sorted out.

I honestly believe that the suits at the county council who run the police do not want to discover who is nicking quads and Landrovers, it would not suit their PC agenda. Actual coppers on the ground, of whom there are too few, hate thieving scrotes as much as you and I, is my experience.

Well 3 weeks later , today I had a phone call from the police asking what has happened ffs:mad:

They had rung on a withheld number so I could not ring them back , his suggestion was ring 101 again, I told him life is too short to bother ringing that number, after which he agreed to e mail me .

After e mailing them details of the McCartneys sale etc they ring back to say they want a formal statement, can I go to the local police station to give a statement, should not take longer than TWO HOURS.o_O

At least you're making progress - albeit rather slowly.
We had a dog worrying incident a few weeks ago. I had to make a statement then. Took an hour and a half. Must say, though, the police in this case were very helpful and got it all sorted with the right result.

Surely, in this day & age, the e-mail is enough of a formal statement ?? I would think PC Plod should be going to McCartneys and going from there to the "supplier/thief" ??
