Discussing with a friend today over land prices.
If banks are only lending on profit and affordablity we decided it would be interesting to see costings with Wheat £100 ton,and all other farming on its knees.
But then hey it's not farming buying land ,its other sidelines that are paying.
We decided it's best to buy a lottery ticket and dream ,I got on with my spraying.

can remember Dad walking away from a field, refusing to pay £200 an acre,
after a few short years he paid £1400 an acre for it. going to have to buy it again now, will probably be
over £8000

Can beat that, dad bought 2 fields at £48, but not another at £50, still have them but never a chance of the £50 one again. (1961 ish)
