Latest government notices about no deal

So you suggest there has never been a land grab on this island we call the UK?

I rent mine off an estate. The laird's ancestors bought it with drugs money and slavery a little over 100 years ago.
So you want some for nowt. I don’t want to give any away. End of story. You and me are so different by the sounds of things

Maybe you should read what I've actually said, and not make up things.

All i've done is point out Packham will lobby for his interests regardless of who is in power - and as farming/food production becomes deemed less important the greater the chances a politician will listen to these extremist views. He is a public image, he uses it to his advantage to get his ideology - regardless of how right/wrong it is.

I feel that is sadly the direction society is going, that 'popular opinion' says land in this country is regarded as a glorified garden and not for food production.

How you got from that to me somehow wanting something for nothing - because I'm just a tenant - only you, in your own prejudiced mind, will understand.

I think it was your ‘how did you think they got it in the first place drugs and slavery’ thing gave the game away. Anyway I am a tenant on some land and I don’t accuse the landlord of using drugs and slavery to get his land given, although slavery does seem to ruing a bell round here! Don’t always get to bed. Yes I understand your Packham thing no offence intended towards you

All land back at the start was acquired through a land grab.

My post was highlighting the irony most of the largest land owners acquired their land through land grabs over time... are those are the ones who fear losing their land... to land grabs  there is, and was, absolutely nothing more to it than that.

My point re. my own land lord, yes - his family made their money in drugs and slavery... it is a frowned upon history now, but was deemed acceptable back then. As far as I'm aware it's no secret that's how they made their money - certainly isn't any scandal. That all happened in the 1800's just the exact same as it happens today (folks buying land/property with money from drugs, sex trafficking etc)

Land grabs and making money from unsavoury activity is no new thing happening today. It has always happened. What goes around comes around and honestly whether we want it or not, it could happen again.

All I've done is commented on the fact it has happened. I've done no such thing of giving any game away ;)

I don’t feel any animosity towards paying rent for land to my landlords. I either rent it or I don’t if it makes money I do it if it doesn’t I don’t.
I stated that my family and myself have worked and are currently working hard for what we do own. They did not get any of it given. They had to buy it. I do not accept that you believe they acquired it through some other means. If that makes you feel better then that’s up to you.

By saying you feel no anamosity towards your landlord you are trying to suggest I have towards mine... but you'll deny that now.

A psychologist would have a field day with you.

How about reading what's written and not making up sh!t to go around it.

Local lord of the manor still brags about his family stealing the estate from a large farming family called the Armstrongs, who they hung from the trees. I did point out to him once that what goes around comes around but sadly the laws on his side.....for now:shifty:

In the Border Reiver days?

I'm not a Labour man, but if they do get in maybe they won't destroy farming like the ticking time bomb that Gove handed us last week that blows most farms finances too bits after 2021, but l think it will be a Labour government buy then, dad never voted Labour but always said farming was better under Labour. Interesting times
A old farmer used to tell me that as well
