Been clearing a pile of freebie stone with my Hitachi 3 tonne excavator for the last couple of weeks out of sight of the farmhouse and within 20 yards of the main road. Never leave the key in the excavator and removed the track off the traction cog on purpose to make it difficult to nick. Anyway nearly at the end of the job so put track back on came back and noticed hydraulic oil drum had been moved so jumped out the tractor only to find excavator running flat out with no key in the ignition. Needless to say it was shifted pretty pronto.
