Finally this field is showing itself. Heavy rain after drilling lead to capping. The muck that was spread has now mostly been pulled in by worms. A few broadleaf weeds, a couple of wild oats so hopefully will have a saving on weed control.

Most of the maize I've seen round here is purple now to a greater or lesser extent, I assume it's lack of moisture? Getting very dry now.
