I need to replace a fibre cement roof (pre '86, 75' x60' ). I have two quotes, one for fibre cement, one for non con drop. Similar price, which should I go for and why ? thankyou.

I don’t believe that the metal sheets will have the longevity of fibre cement (assuming The FC last as long as the asbestos). I am particularly disappointed with the plastic coating on the metal, and lve noticed the plastic screw caps break down and disintegrate well before they should.

For a general purpose farm shed, or a livestock shed, I‘d be using fibre cement.

Non con drop will still get damp.....the fleece lining just holds the water and stops it falling to the floor. I can't imagine it's great for the tin or will last as long.

FC every time if uninsulated.....or proper composite panels if non-farm use and you're feeling flush!

Fibre cement every time, better job in every way. Longer lasting, quieter, drier. Tin will be noisy and need replaced sooner.
The downside of fibre cement is the fitting time and skill to get a perfect job, the upside of tin is the fitting time and little skill to get a perfect job.
