Militant vegans

Most vegans wouldn't (couldn't?) raise a hand to harm anyone, but some would, even in France of all places. There is an obvious further step from 'protesting' at slaughterhouses and butchers' shops; it's too difficult to target millions of consumers, so what about the producers? :scratchhead:

Cultists.

Unfortunately all causes have their fanatics. I don't understand the need to impose one's will over others though...

A lot of the badger anti's seem to have strong vegan links. Are they really that bothered about badgers or is it just a handy tool to turn the public against meat?

There are a few current farming practices could do with threatening although I certainly don’t advocate living in a “wildlife” park.
I would hope that sensitive and sustainable livestock farming could be appreciated and rewarded with a viable income. Cultured protein could enable this without the need to pillage the sustainability of another nation’s landscape.

I wonder if the motivation to become a vegan is more about claiming an identity than anything else. A bit like becoming a Punk all those years ago.

these vegans don't work then - how come they have so much time on their hands for all this BS? Surely a true vegan preaches love and kindness, has crafts and skills, works the land and is far too busy growing veg to even care about the likes of us
Kinda sounds like my cattle (y)

And a sheep's worst enemy is anoth.......

If you want to confuse a vegan about the ethics of dairy products ask what their objections are, it usually boils down to usual rubbish of forcing cows to get pregnant, murdering babies at birth etc. Once they get that off their chest ask their opinion of maiden milkers-fairly common in the goat world.

All these Hippie, vegan, socialist tossers are rich people's kids, they have security and can make picky, ridiculous lifestyle choices, because they're not paying for them

They had a series on BBC “The Truth About Food” they looked at milk, apparently what they don’t tell you is that it’s the fat in milk that allows you to metabolise the calcium. So, all milk contains same amount of calcium but the amount of fat present determines the amount that is available in proper milk. However non dairy contains no fat so any calcium present isn’t available. That was a dietitian explaining it, I’m sure Osteoporosis is going to be a massive problem in the future.

One of several reasons why I only drink full fat milk.

Wife's best friend is senior food scientist for one of the big dairy food manufactures here, advise from her is stay away from low fat dairy products like the plague
