maybe,

but using lots of low doses of roundup is fashionable nowdays is it not

heck, ive even built myself a min till cultivator, you might convert me yet

although, the cultivator does better job when its dropped it to 9" deep, at that depth its no quicker than a plough, so im kidding myself really aint i

bit like most fanatic no tillers then?

aye unless you have a plough,
Even after ploughing ( which believe it or not I used to do, still got it in the shed;)) 1.5l isn't enough to reliably take out volunteers, and certainly not enough for charlock etc. Blackgrass which germinates in the autumn will probably survive it too, maybe we are looking at the farm that will breed the first roundup ready blackgrass:eek:

Oh and I'd have ploughed it first time anyway;), clean start and all that, but I'd leave the rubbish under for more than a year.

TFF News note.

I have had a reply to my email to George Monbiot.

George has several commitments in the very near future but has volunteered to contribute to healthy debate on TFF

A timetabled discussion thread with George Monbiot live has been suggested

I will try to ensure the OP and others have sufficient notice to be able to join

Regards

Jeremy @JP1

Has this been forgotten about or did George bottle it?

Maybe bottled it or perhaps chose a bigger bear to bait?

Hmm maybe, I have just flitted through a couple of his more recent articles on the Guardian website and he seems to forgotten about the wretched farmers and is now concentrating his scorn on evil corporations.

if he's going after big business, then maybe its clocked to him that family small farms are the lesser of 2 evils, but we'll see, i don't think that would make him anymore though.
