Moving a shed

How feasible is it to move a steel building (fibre cement roof, Yorkshire building sides) about 100 foot?

Would the roof sheets etc all have to be replaced?

During a ferocious boundary dispute between two brothers locally a curvy roof tin dutch barn 90 x 30 was gas axed off at ground level and towed across the yard, it survived but was never quite the same shape again - it was never refastened to the ground and tended to wander a bit when the wind blew.

I don't know the answer to your question @Sleepy but I suggest that you don't do it like that.

Slightly off topic but recall a wealthy farmer who had a massive battle with the planners.

He got permission for a new storage shed but deliberately built is 10 yards from where it was meant to go. They went mad and served an enforcement notice, he played dumb right up to the last minute then gas axed and dragged the whole unit to the correct place.

Inspector came out and went away scratching head!

Just cut it and weld skids on the bottom then tow it like a sledge.

Apologies. This has just been mentioned above.
Could add extra bracing I guess and even if just temporary it wouldn't take long?

I know of a guy that's going to make 15 sheds 60ftx30ft movable on skids for chickens with a winch pull so when that's all kitted out a 60x60 agri shed may well be lighter

It may be best to remove any sheets that cross between purlin joins if it's a fibre cement roof to save any cracking
