Neighbour cutting my hedge?

You certainly need to be confident of your facts, but sometimes legal action is the only solution. Some people are just impossible to deal with, I know this from bitter experience.

How much more confident do you need to be than drawing of plot filed at land registry with dimensions on which neighbor has then erected a barbed wire fence on our land and planted hedge behind the fence on our land. Even had surveyor out to remeasure and its confirmed all on our land yet advised by solicitors if we remoce fence and hedge then injunction would be issued against us and we would have to reinstate and pay there costs oh and the court case will cost you 30k.

Sounds like you need a new solicitor. However, Land Registry plans are not definitive regarding exact boundaries lines. That said, if there’s no evidence to the contrary........

Plot size was actually written into the deeds when we sold the land. Twenty years later and the new buyer just decided to create there own boundary. Definetly a new solicitor required.

If OP is confident he 100% owns the hedge then the neighbour is guilty of criminal damage and should contact a solicitor to claim compensation & costs. As a general rule it's a good idea is to keep a note of every time you have spoken to the other party in a dispute like this, (even before you think t's serious) so you can demonstrate you have tried all reasonable ways to resolve the matter- eg 1st May spoken to neighbour re not cutting my hedge. 5th July Neighbour cut hedge-told him he has no right to do so. 8 Sept Neighbour cut hedge again so have written to him (copy kept) saying I will take legal action.

Shows you have been reasonable and far better than " I keep telling him" Also, the other party will tell lies

All this legal talk and surgestions of putting caravans, containers etc there will get you no where,
It will become a which party can get one up on the other, a friendly next door relationship is far better than a bitter one, and once you really get his back up, there might be gates left open to let stock out, he might report you to some athorrities or other, and cause you lots of hassle for slurry in drains, burning plastic etc, or working late at night
So unless your squicky clean just leave it,, and put a fence up tight to the hedge on your side, through time he will let it grow up to post height, the hide them,
So in the end you have won on the QT

All them saying do this do that, won't give a f**k if you fall out with him and he gives you lots of grief over it,
Remember most giving advice are miles and miles away from you,

Either you've omitted some important facts or your solicitor is useless. My lawyer will sort this if you need some help. PM if you need her number.

Having a spot of bother where my neighbour insists on cutting my hedge, the hedge in question is next to his drive, excellent vision either way but it seems it’s now his mission to butcher the hedge to a sub 1m height (rest of my hedges are 2m high),its been pointed out he’s no right to go do this but it’s fallen on deaf ears.

What are my options?

Erect a wire behind the hedge to stop cattle jumping over?

Get him to?

Erect a wire in the hedge?

Its now got to the point if I catch him I’m going to do him damage with his hedge cutter.

How has it been pointed out? Have you actually had a face to face talk about it?
If he didn't get the point, explain it again and tell him you'll take legal action, if its that important to you.
