OSR and spring geminating wild oats

Had a disaster in a field of wheat this year. Sprayed wild oats in the wheat and used up some old chemical which didn't work. I now have a massive return of seed in a field that is due to go into OSR. What are my options for control. My agronomist hopes that the tall OSR will smother the emerging oats but I'm not so confident.

Any advice or experience?

I would keep the tillage shallow to avoid future problems and just deal with them in the osr with kerb, crawler and graminicides. Ploughing will give you a longer term issue in my experience.

You won't have a problem if you have a half decent agronomist

One autumn accase fusillade type, then kerb spring accase laser type if needed but I doubt it

Oh dear.

There seems to be a lot of wild oats this year, probably due to no atlantis being used here this year I guess.

I have wild oats in June sprayed spring barley. The Axial went on in good conditions & at a good rate so unless coverage was compromised I think we have been selecting ever later germinating culitvars.

Axial failed here! My agronomist said he knew of a couple of others who had similar results. He mentioned night time temps as one of many possible causes.

ACCase herbicides like Axial, Falcon, Aramo etc work in winter so I don't buy that one, unless your chap was thinking of big diurnal temperature swings.
