Permanent pasture and SFP

You can grow what you liks just cant claim sfp. If you get Ught will have to put it back to gtass. Even if you get permidsion and the country as a whole ploughs up too much may have to put some back to grass

But you do have to declare all land that you farm, wether you claim on it or not

Do you not make that initial assessment yourself? If it is 'improved' and contains a certain proportion of cultivated grass varieties, then you don't need to apply for anything. If it is 'unimproved' and contains only old, native species and orchids, etc, then you have to apply for an environmental impact assessment and get permission. I heard that the powers that be were surprised last year, at how few EIA's they'd been asked to do.

There were more than 25% productive grasses there when I last looked. You are reseeding/rejuvenating PP, you are not destroying habitat are you.

Its the people who are now trying to reseed ground which they have had in Tear Grovel , as converting to semi improved that are up sh*t creek as the doomsday book has your land listed as what it now is ie semi improved.

We all need to remember that it is our land, so we should be able to grow what we want on it.
In another thread on hear people were asking how much is it worth with refrance to land value people are letting others value theirs land if the single farm payment is that important to them

Just plough it up and act thick!

A few years ago a Block of "neglected land" was purchased by a local farmer.

Exchanged contracts and arranged an extended completion.

By arrangement with the Vendor he was given access to clear scrub, cut overgrown hedges etc.

A private sale, and he had told his Solicitor, not to tell him anything, as he had no concerns.

Completion was arranged for 12.00 Noon on a Friday, and by Monday Morning all 60 odd acres had been ploughed by contractors working through the night.

The land was an ESA, and by the time he received notification of the restrictions it was done and dusted.

Vendor had not told him.;)

Solicitor had not told him.

Nothing was done about it.
