Jazy paint job on the hopper.Finished the Sagitta today, what a great spud it is (well looks!) no damage and nice size. Still if I fry at home I prefer Agria!
Bagged 23.5t acre, been a good run!View attachment 1169704
Me to, cut by 12%Just got the call, Sagitta seed is coming up short.
Any alternatives offered? Could widen the spacing or cutting of largest tubers in the sample be options, do they give you tuber counts like TGW in cereals or is that a diy job?Just got the call, Sagitta seed is coming up short.
Maybe they were too optimistic?Any reasons given why or is it Mr big wig has more clout and he will have them all. I find it mysterious the bulk of them were harvested ages ago, have not heard of many horror storage stories and would have a very good idea what they had to sell definitely before Christmas.
Said they will try and get smaller ones or bigger ones to get a full load but not the sizes originally ordered.Any alternatives offered? Could widen the spacing or cutting of largest tubers in the sample be options, do they give you tuber counts like TGW in cereals or is that a diy job?
Tops worth more than seed?Maybe they were too optimistic?

True. Then the smallsTops worth more than seed?
Yes that’s what he said. You will get 25-35 or large 55-65
So will they come split graded to help with planting, most years, if I remember was 35/55 as standard grade.Said they will try and get smaller ones or bigger ones to get a full load but not the sizes originally ordered.
Off topic, heard someone ordered their usual spring barley seed order in Sept’ for 400 acre through the malting contract merchant as they had done for many years and contract of sale turned up just before Xmas with a price of £800/tonne, order cancelled as actual malting contract had not been sent, now going in SFI.Bloody annoying, ours were ordered early, and was told they were all harvested and in store in October.
Same here with sagitta. I ordered early August, off the same merchant for at least 10 years and always pay week after delivery.Me to, cut by 12%
Depends if they are genuinely short. I know of others who took seed in January who had no reductions.Same here with sagitta. I ordered early August, off the same merchant for at least 10 years and always pay week after delivery.
On the other hand if we're all in same boat less will be more?
Safer always in your own store I foundBloody annoying, ours were ordered early, and was told they were all harvested and in store in October.
Yes, no seed store here though. May have to rethink.Safer always in your own store I found
