Strong contract prices on the table for next season.
The trade obviously thinks prices are unlikely to collapse.
After the last few seasons all the chip shops want contracts.

Local one to me is £2.75 and £3.75 on chips, he was saying how they were struggling. I said bet you make plenty on the sausages, he smiled!

Working off a large portion as an example and say for arguments sake there one of the more generous chippys that give a 600g portion
41.5 portions per 25kg bag? £155.63 per bag?? At £6225.20 per ton i may open my own chippy at the front gate

£550 is £13.75 a bag, the farmer might be getting that but merchants are adding on £4-£5 a bag? So chippy’s paying £16-£17 maybe more?

Most people in the comments didn’t seem to bothered by the colour anyway.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is one of those shops that demands the cheapest potatoes a Merchant can get, yet acts surprised when they don’t produce perfect golden chips
