Absolutely sheeting it down here now, any guesses how long the assessor will want to wander round the yards this afternoon before he decides its time to check my broken needle policy.

The usual really 30min walk around then 2hrs of me shuffling bits of paper while he tapped on his computer.

Got a non conformance for not having a temp logger on my bulk tank though which seems to be their latest idea.

What a load of bollox, no wonder folk get annoyed at farm assurance.

What milk buyer will pick up warm milk? mine certainly won't.

When the milk is picked up the temp is printed on the ticket, i assume this is the same with other milk buyers.

So what good reason is there to insist on a temperature data logger on a tank!

Because he couldn't find anything else?

Always found it best to leave an obvious minor non-conformance for them to find in order to justify their existence.

Dairy Hygiene guy turned up many years ago & told the old man that the bung in the bulk tank was perished&to change it...Dad didn't change it..lo&behold,a full 2 yrs later the same guy showed up again..Father made a point of waving the bung in front of him&asking if it needed changing and the guy said that it was fine &''that he saw worse every day''...the whole charade is a major pita in the main..
