Re-drill now, or in the spring?

Leave, re-drill in the Spring. Had one field we drilled in Dec last year, ok in middle but where we'd damaged the soil structure around the headland chopping back all the low branches ( bigger combine) it wasn't good. Re- drilled in spring with Mulika and harvested it all together, upped the quality of the feed wheat and got an extra £30/t premium.

when you say drilled in the spring what date did you drill? I have some patches that have drowned and rather than rip the hole field up would like to drill some SW with the claydon but doubt will get near it till beginning of april inless we have a dry time

It was end of March/ beginning of April. WW was Diego,SW was Mulika, at the time the Mulika was cheaper than feed SW so didn't take a lot of thinking about.

Thanks, sounds like it might be worth having a go rather than rip up the whole field

Well, went at it this afternoon, and stitched in some wheat. We'll see what happens!

It is but certain coastal parts can dry quick
