Reco Profi 3200 Baler

Going to look at a Reco round baler just wondering if anyone has had or used one and if so knows any problems with this baler.

Is that chain and slat
If so they are a decent baler and will bale anything.
String Tie mechanism is same as a welger and pretty idiot proof

Yes it looks like chain and slats similar I believe to the Krone?

Same principle but I think it shares more common parts with welger.
The paint is always shite on gallignani stuff

Where are they made? Is it Italy?

It was made by Gallignani in Italy. The Italian factory was bought by the KV group some years ago. Made good tight bales but pick up area was weak if it was sold to a contractor.

It's been a while since I saw one but I think the 3200 is chain and slat in the back door, and rollers in the front half kinda like those JD multi crop balers .
It's made by Gallignani, they were sold as a Pottinger in some countries too.
The chamber rollers on the ones I saw were made of aluminium and were easily punctured by rocks and the drive hub used to shear off the rollers too.
There's a chopper version too,.

Local MF dealer here was Gallignani agent 25 years ago, when new management took over 4 years ago they found 3 brand new 3200s and a couple of UG foragers in crates never used.....

Went to look at the baler it looks ok paint starting to fade and rust in places although it is a2002 build. Its been a farmers machine so its not done a hell of a lot of work. We still have a Krone to look at so we will have to make our minds up.

What about a Claas 46 ? A standard non chopper narrow pickup one.
They're cheap, make an ok bale, simple to use ,and fairly easily maintained .They run nice and quietly and parts are available.As long as the rollers and door lock valve are ok you're laughing !

Yes I would consider a Class 46, not seen one locally for sale.

Judging from that your budget is £3kish?? In which case you can pretty much have your pick of 10-15yr old balers. Not sure gallignani would be high on my list for that money.

Trouble Is there are plenty of worn out balers on the market for our budget, the Gallignani we looked at had not done a lot of work.

I sold a cracker of a Claas 46 narrow pickup, no chopper, but the heavier chains, never had a night outside with me , last summer for £1850
Straw bales 200kg average, silage 750kg average. Had to take a it steady but it made good bales. Only swapped for something with a wider pickup.
There are tidy balers to be found if you can bide your time.
